A transdisciplinary workshop event for people who create digital products which respect humans.

In 2018 the conversation around healthy relationships with technology went mainstream. Many people have written about issues such as the attention economy crisis, hijacked minds and the tragic consequences of distraction. Even Google & Apple launched solutions to the problem as part of their new operating systems.

The responisibility is clear for anyone who is involved in creating a digital product, but explicitly designing for a healthy balance is far from the norm.

Solutions are still in thier infancy, and the language and approach is still being defined: Humane Design, Time Well Spent, Digital Wellbeing, Mindful Design—whatever you call it, the essence is a focus on building tech which:

  • Doesn't just try to maximise time spent on devices
  • Is aware of its impact on mental health
  • Strives to create meaningful app experiences
  • Contains ad experiences which don't just chew up people’s attention
  • Has an ethical basis

Join us for a day of intense collaboration and design hacking to help move the conversation forward and deepen your own understanding and skills.

This event is for teams who are already working on an existing digital product, and are looking to deepen their skills and understanding of how to design your digital product to be respectful of people's minds and wellbeing.

This means your team can gain new skills and insights in relation to the product they are already working on.

Interest in this event has been very high and so in order to ensure the best experience teams will be considered and selected after submitting a proposal.
